what color is vivid?
When Amy was a little girl she asked her mom, "What color is vivid?". From that moment, she knew she wanted to be an artist.
Amy was born with a sketch book in her hand. As early as junior high, she wanted to attend The Art Institute of Seattle. Her dream came true in the early 1990s thanks to her parents and grandmother. Seattle welcomed Amy and grunge with open arms.
Art school was a life changing experience. After graduating, she worked in a few design studios. A couple years later she made the switch to the advertising world. Apparently, caffeine was not enough for her!
Amy has been working in design/marketing/advertising for almost 30 years. During those years she has had the opportunity to work on amazing projects, with talented people for diverse clients.
Amy can make any medium work and look good while clearly communicating messages. She is the most organized artist you'll ever meet. Amy doesn't like to be called a perfectionist, but she can tell if something is off from a mile away. Her focus has always been on design with an attention to brand identity, logo design, typography, illustration and art direction.
In 2017, Amy opened her own design shop, LOCKHART art direction & design.
